Hi. i'm georgina

Why One Daily Habit Exists

Because I have been where you are!

Spent years trying to change everything at once—starting over on Mondays, buying the plans, reading the books, and wondering why I still felt stuck.

Eventually, I started asking a different question.

Instead of:

“How do I fix all of this?”

I started asking:

“What's one small thing I can actually change today?”

Turns out, a better question can give you a very different place to start.

That's the idea behind One Daily Habit.

Not fixing your entire life by Friday.

Just looking at the problem differently, finding one place to begin,

and seeing where one small shift takes you.

The Question That Changed Everything

July 17, 20265 min read

What happened when I stopped trying
harder and started asking better questions.

Have you ever noticed what happens the moment you decide it's time to change your life?

Suddenly everyone has an opinion.

Wake up earlier.

  • Drink more water.

  • Meal prep.

  • Read ten pages a day.

  • Start a budget.

  • Meditate.

  • Track your habits.

  • Buy the planner.

  • Download the app.

By the time you've finished collecting advice, you're overwhelmed before you've even started.

I know because I've been there.

I've bought the planners.

Started over every Monday.

Promised myself that this would be the year I finally figured it out.

Sometimes I made it a few weeks.

Sometimes I barely made it a few days.

Every time I slipped, I assumed I knew the problem.

"I need more discipline."

"I just need to try harder."

Looking back...

I don't think either of those was true.

I think I was trying to solve the wrong problem.

The Mirror That Changed Everything

I woke up on my 50th birthday, looked in the mirror, and barely recognized the woman staring back at me.

My first thought wasn't...

"I need another diet."

It was...

"When did I stop fighting for her?"

  • Life had happened.

  • Three kids.

  • A career.

  • A husband.

  • School schedules.

  • Laundry.

  • Late-night worries.

  • A calendar that always seemed full.

None of those things were bad.

But somewhere along the way, I'd quietly moved myself to the bottom of my own priority list.

That birthday didn't magically change my life.

It changed the questions I started asking.

For years I'd been asking...

"What do I need to take away?"

What foods should I stop eating?

What habits should I quit?

What should I cut out?

Instead, I started asking something completely different.

What could I add?

What could I add that would help me become healthier?

What could I add that would make tomorrow a little easier?

What could I add that future me would thank me for?

That one shift changed everything.

Not overnight.

But little by little.

What If It Was Never About
Trying Harder?

We're taught that success comes from wanting it more.

Trying harder.

Being more disciplined.

And discipline absolutely has its place.

But here's something I've learned:

Trying harder only works if you're trying to solve the right problem.

Imagine your car won't start.

You could wash it.

Vacuum it.

Buy new floor mats.

None of those things are bad ideas.

They're just unrelated to the actual problem.

Life works the same way.

Sometimes we're working incredibly hard...

We're just working on the wrong thing.

The Question That Changed Everything (For Me)

For years, every time I struggled with consistency, I asked myself the same question.

"Why can't I stay consistent?"

It sounds harmless.

But hidden inside that question is an assumption.

That I'm the problem.

So I replaced it with a different question.

What problem am I actually trying to solve?

That question opened doors guilt never could.

Maybe the habit was too complicated.

Maybe I'd made success harder than it needed to be.

Maybe I was trying to change ten things at once.

Maybe I was fixing symptoms instead of causes.

Better questions gave me better answers.

Because You're Probably Not Broken

This is the part I wish someone had told me years ago.

Most of us carry stories about ourselves.

"I'm lazy."

"I always quit."

"I've never been disciplined."

But those are labels.

They're not explanations.

Our habits are influenced by all kinds of things—our routines, our environment, how easy or difficult a behavior is to do, and the systems we've built around us.

That's encouraging.

Because systems can change.

Environments can change.

Questions can change.

And when those things change, our habits often become easier too.

This Isn't an Excuse

Let's be clear.

I'm not saying discipline doesn't matter.

It does.

I'm not saying we're powerless.

We're not.

I'm saying responsibility starts with an accurate diagnosis.

If you've been trying the same thing over and over without getting the results you want...

Maybe the answer isn't to push harder.

Maybe it's to pause long enough to ask whether you're solving the right problem.

Why I Started One Daily Habit

This is the heartbeat behind everything you'll find here.

I'm not a doctor.

I'm not a productivity guru.

I'm a wife, a mom to three amazing humans, an entrepreneur at heart, and someone who's still figuring a lot of this out right alongside you.

One Daily Habit wasn't born because I had all the answers.

It was born because I finally started asking better questions.

This isn't a place where I'll tell you to overhaul your life before breakfast.

It's a place where we'll slow down long enough to challenge the assumptions we've been carrying around for years.

Because sometimes one better question changes more than another perfect plan ever could.

Your One Daily Habit

Before you buy another planner...

Before you promise yourself that Monday will be different...

Before you decide you simply need more willpower...

Pause.

Ask yourself one question.

Am I solving the right problem?

That's it.

You don't have to solve your whole life today.

Just make sure you're solving the right problem first.

One Better Question

Instead of asking:

Why can't I stay consistent?

Ask:

What problem am I actually trying to solve?

Unlearn This

Trying harder isn't always the answer.

Sometimes asking a better question changes everything.

Reflection

What's one area of your life where you've been putting in more effort...

when what you really needed was a different question?

Take a minute.

Write it down.

Sit with it.

You might discover the answer isn't to work harder.

It might simply be to think differently.
